BIG STORY: Arsenal’s And Man City’s Next Five Matches As Title Race Becomes Hotter

This premier league season from around November 2025, the title race proved like a three team race of Arsenal, Manchester City and Aston Villa. Man City and Aston Villa were all chasing Arsenal who were top of the table.

This three team race continue until mid-January when Aston Villa lost the momentum and started losing games or drawing, giving the other two a chance to compete squarely.

By the start of February this year, it became clear that the league title race is now between Arsenal who sit at the top of the table and Manchester City who have clinched the league twice from Arsenal in the last four years.

To the pundits who mostly are former premier league players, when Arsenal loses, they claim it’s clear they’re losing the league title. When Man. City loses, it’s never a big deal to them.

Arsenal had a chance to have a very wide margin of almost 12 points but lost a game to Manchester United (the third) in the season and then bounced with several draws including the one of last week mid-week against Wolves.

As the weekend returned, Arsenal and Manchester City both picked up very important victories as the title race heats up. Pep Gaurdiola’s men won 2-1 against New Castle United on Saturday evening while the Gunners responded emphatically as they beat Tottenham 4-1 in the North London Derby.

A Nico O’Reilly brace sealed a triumph for City at Etihad Stadium with Gianluigi Donnarumma pulling an excellent save in added time to keep his side in front. Less than 24 hours later, it rained goals on Totenham as Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres scored twice each to hand Arsenal crucial three points at the expense of their bitter rivals.

City had closed the gap down to two points with their third straight league win, but Arsenal restored their advantage at the summit in style. 11 games remain of this season with some challenging outings in the horizon for both before they meet head to head in mid April in the premier league just after their Carabao cup final on March 22.
