Charlotte Komugisha, a tiktok queen in Kampala now aged 48 years old, first met her man in 2003 and they started having sex there and then.
She has been cohabiting with the boyfriend since that time. They got three children together who are now aged between 12 and 19 years.
In 2018 sharp disagreements erupted after the boyfriend accused her of cheating with other men.
She went to live with her grandmother in Bunga from where she returned last May, saying she had reformed and was now ready to be a good person.
The boyfriend reluctantly allowed her back because the children pleaded to him but he stayed in a different bedroom, boycotted her and avoided having sex with her fearing to contract dangerous UTIs and other infections.
Things only got worse as the two repeatedly quarreled inside the Makindye house where they had been cohabiting from.
Charlotte grew more violent and allegedly threatened death, prompting him to seek protection from court.
When area LC1s failed to reconcile them, the boyfriend filed a court case which concluded with the trial magistrate Arinaitwe Elisha ruling that there was no marriage in the first place to be dissolved.
He relied on the evidence of Charlotte’s elderly father Mzee Eli Muhwezi, who came to court and testified against his own daughter and in favor of her estranged boyfriend.
The old man told court that the boyfriend only stopped at coming around to see where the mother of his children comes from. This was in Ntungamo in 2011.
The boyfriend had been asked to pay dowry of 5 cows and 5 goats which he refused to pay saying he had changed his mind about going very far with their daughter after Charlotte revealed her true colors and became very bad-mannered.
Mzee Muhwezi told court that he liked the boyfriend for being open instead of beating around the bush.
He said since that time he accepted reality and began treating the boyfriend as nothing more than the father of his three grandchildren, birthed by his daughter Charlotte.
This evidence by the father moved the magistrate to conclude there was indeed no marriage. Charlotte with her social media in-laws opened war on her own father calling him a traitor who gave evidence against his own daughter. She claims that her father has been bribed by the boyfriend.
In absence of marriage, there was no need for court to go into the alleged adultery. The magistrate ordered that Charlotte walks away with nothing. Not even custody of the children.
Court held that the best interest of the children would be best served if they remain in the custody of their father, the boyfriend, since he is the one with financial means to provide for them.
Charlotte was unable to show to court that she made any contribution to the property, worth billions of shillings, which the boyfriend owns.
Even in absence of marriage, she would be given some property under equity if she had proved she contributed anything.
Her spokesman who is an elderly journalist based in Kampala, now says that Charlotte has been treated unfairly and he wants the principal judge to intervene.
The spokesman also says that Charlotte is now going to suffer extreme poverty adding that she is already choking on internet data bills of Ugx500k since the boyfriend is no longer providing.
Her spokesman has also opened war on the Makindye magistrates in whose courts Charlotte has been losing cases to her now estranged boyfriend, who clearly no longer has any interest in her.
Instead of moving on and going on to rebuild her life, Charlotte has vowed to keep menacing the boyfriend so that he can’t have any peace.
Even when she doesn’t have money to feed herself and pay the internet bills, Charlotte has promised to oppose the magistrates ruling in the high court.
Her close friends say that the Kampala tiktok queen craves endless chaos and doesn’t want to see a solution or an end to the troubles she has deliberately been creating for the boyfriend and their three children, all of whom are now in boarding schools.
Charlotte is also regretting why she rejected the boyfriend’s offer, made during mediation last December, to buy for her a house and being given a grant of Ugx100m to go and start a new life afresh.
She refused all this only to now realize that she actually doesn’t have the good case she all along thought she had.
The boyfriend’s lawyers recently petitioned both the chief inspector of courts in Uganda and the concerned chief magistrate protesting the controversial interim stay of execution, which his worship Robert Magara granted a few days ago, purporting to be preventing Charlotte from being immediately evicted and forced out of the Makindye home after the court had ruled that there was no marriage to be dissolved.
This means that the bad-mannered tiktok queen no longer has any basis and rightful claim to continue forcefully staying in the man’s home while tying herself on him yet he clearly doesn’t have any more interest in her.
