Kitutu Chache South MP Anthony Kibagendi landed in trouble during plenary of Tuesday 17th February following remarks he made on Citizen TV’s Daybreak show, where he alleged that the National Assembly had been “auctioned” to the government.
In his comments, Kibagendi accused the Speaker and his deputies of undermining and wrecking the institution, claims that drew sharp condemnation from National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, who ordered the legislator’s ejection from the House.
The suspension was effective immediately and the first time MP was escorted out of the chambers by surgent at arms to his vehicle and was told he’s unwelcome at parliament and it’s surroundings.
The Speaker further directed that the first-term MP be barred from attending sittings and committee meetings until he tenders a properly worded apology.
